191 Apartments/Buildings to be Demolished in Bhubaneswar, Say Minister
Odisha Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra has announced that 191 Apartments/Buildings to be Demolished in Bhubaneswar. This information was shared in the Odisha Legislative Assembly in response to a question by MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain
Key points of Apartments/Buildings to be Demolished in Bhubaneswar:
- 491 cases against illegally constructed buildings have been registered under the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA)
- Demolition orders have been issued in 191 of these cases
- 63 cases have been dropped
- 237 cases are currently sub-judice
The minister also mentioned that the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has registered 1,444 cases against unauthorized constructions, with 451 cases already resolved and 993 cases pending.
This significant action by the Odisha government aims to address the issue of illegal construction and ensure proper urban planning in the state capital
Mr. Ranendra Pratap Swain mentioned that actions are being taken against those projects that breached the law, in line with the Odisha Urban Development Authorities Act of 1982
